𓂃GROUNDING PRACTICE
Here is your remainder page with the underlying qualities of attention and DaNCING𓂃BaND’s grounding practice —maintained through all other dances, guidance and prompts found in the ADD~ONs, FOR EXPERIENCED MOVERS, and DaNCING BaND COLLECTIVE.
How to work with the Grounding Practice? Qualities of attention. What dance means here.
1. Attunement
Stay always attuned to the pressure the band creates against your skin. Don’t Overstrech it. Move in ways that feel comfortable, pleasurable, so it doesn’t become too compressed or cut off your circulation or your partner’s. Let the feeling guide you—not bind you!
2. Keep it simple
There is a vast well of possibility when we move gently and with the greatness of subtlety. Invite small, quiet movements into the room. Keep it simple—especially in the tender beginning of each new exploration.
3. Including the Odds
If the band becomes tangled or uncomfortable, slow down, pause, and do whatever is necessary to reset. Include the “odds” as part of the dance—they, too, belong!
And using the other hand to help.
4. Moving Curiosity
There are no “right” or “wrong” ways of dancing here, rather allowing our unique ways of moving, or sensing, of allowing our pace, or allowing rediscover what dancing can be, may allow us to be? Stay close to your creative, intuitive self.
5. Moving with care
Bring your qualities of care and respect into the room, towards yourself, your partner, and the group.
