DaNCING𓂃BaND has been originated by artist, dancer, and choreographer Margarita Zafrilla Olayo and was born out from her choreographic practice & artwork working with large elastic bands, made and paintings by herself, called TiLTING VERTICALITIES, (2019).
DaNCING𓂃BaND is a practice that needs more than one only person for it work. Thus, its development has been made possible thanks to friends, collegues, and communities whose presence and insights continue its shape and collective transmissions.
DaNCING𓂃BaND initial idea sparked came to be, from having the real honour of working with Chrish Higgings/MAP CONSORTIUM towards a co leadership session during 2023 and 2024 within the context of OPPi GLOBAL — an international grassroot incredible comunity of professionals working on the leadership space of education. I was so lucky to come with Chris and Oppi and premier this work with the!
Id like to exted my gratitude to all of them and who moved with me and explored with curiosity and care, and to those who supported the practice and staging of both the live and digital content that sustain its transmission.
